Lake Oconee Academy is seeking highly qualified, enthusiastic, and motivated teachers for the following positions:
Elementary Education - The successful candidate should be highly qualified for grades Pre-K through grade 5. A history of high student performance is desirable; however, teachers early in their teaching careers are encouraged to apply. An elementary education math endorsement or strong math background and/or elementary science endorsement or strong science background are preferred. An understanding of the Common Core Standards and their alignment with GA’s present standards is desired. Some background or knowledge of the Core Knowledge Curriculum and Core Knowledge theory is desirable but not mandatory. The position will also require the successful candidate to be part of the vertical alignment team designing and implementing a Pre-K through 8 college preparatory curriculum model.
Middle School or Middle and High School Mathematics – The successful candidate should be highly qualified for grades 4-8 or grades 6-12 mathematics. A history of high student performance is desirable; however, teachers early in their teaching careers are encouraged to apply. An understanding of the Common Core Standards and their alignment with GA Mathematics standards is desired. The position will also require the successful candidate to be part of the vertical alignment team designing and implementing a 6 through 12 college preparatory mathematics program.
Middle or Middle and High School ELA - The successful candidate should be highly qualified for grades 4-8 or grades 6-12 ELA. A history of high student performance is desirable; however, teachers early in their teaching careers are encouraged to apply. An understanding of the Common Core Standards and their alignment with GA ELA standards is desired. The position will also require the successful candidate to be part of the vertical alignment team designing and implementing a 6 through 12 college preparatory ELA program.
Middle or Middle and High School Humanities - The successful candidate should be highly qualified for grades 4-8 or grades 6-12 History / Humanities. A history of high student performance is desirable; however, teachers early in their teaching careers are encouraged to apply. An understanding of the Common Core Standards and their alignment with GA History / Humanities standards is desired. The position will also require the successful candidate to be part of the vertical alignment team designing and implementing a 6 through 12 college preparatory humanities program.
