May 26, 2009 - Groundbreaking Ceremony for the New LOA Campus
LOA students, faculty, families, board members and the Greene County Schools Superintendent Dr. Barbara Davis celebrated the groundbreaking of the new LOA campus on Carey Station Road.
November 7, 2009 - LOA: Winners of the First Annual Kickball Tournament Presented by Spotlight Theatres
Thank you to all the parents, students and friends of LOA who supported this fun and worthwhile community event. Proceeds benefitted Variety, a children’s charity dedicating to improving the lives of children around the world through financial assistance and services to organizations that serve children with special needs. The LOA team looks forward to defending the title next year!
January 28, 2010 - LOA Receives Gold Award for Academic Achievement
LOA has been awarded a Gold Award for Highest Percentage of Students Meeting or Exceeding Standards from the Governor’s Office for Student Achievement in the 2009 Single Statewide System Accoutability (SSAS) awards - the highest award for a second year school. 100% of LOA students met or exceeded all Georgia Performance Standards in reading, language arts and mathematics. In addition, all grades scored at the 99th percentile on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS).
