Lunch Program and Order Form

 

Dear LOA Parents:

            During the 2008/2009 school year we began investigating the feasibility of offering our children a hot lunch while in our current facility. In making this decision, several factors were considered – the first of which was whether it was even logistically possible to serve a hot lunch given our current setup. After a “trial run” we determined that a hot lunch program was not only doable, but highly desirable. In light of the overwhelmingly positive feedback we received from our parents last year, we have decided to continue the program during the 2009/2010 school year. The following is a guideline regarding our school lunch program.

            First and foremost, participation in the lunch program is optional. You can also choose to purchase a hot lunch on certain days and pack a lunch from home*on other days. The process for selecting your child’s lunches for the month will be as follows: Two copies of the next month’s menu will be sent home with your child by the 10th of the current month (for example, you will receive the September menu by August 10th). Please circle the days you would like your child to purchase a hot lunch and then complete the “Lunch Order Ticket” portion of the form. You can then forward a copy of the form, along with your payment, back to your child’s teacher. Keep one copy for your records. (We recommend you place it on the refrigerator door as a reminder of the days you have purchased lunch). Please note that payment must be received in advance and if your child is absent for any reason on a day you selected for him/her to receive a hot lunch, no refund will be given. It will be incumbent upon you, the parent, to keep track of the days you signed up for hot lunches. All menus will need to be returned at least one week prior to the 1st of the month.

            Our lunch vendor, That Pizza Place, will maintain a spreadsheet of the students choosing to participate in the lunch program and the dates they have chosen to eat. Please note: any/all requests for a hot lunch must be submitted in advance (by the deadline). Same day requests cannot be accommodated.
