LOA Students Inspired by Visit from Author Chris Rumble

Author Chris Rumble brought his wonderful blend of humor, inspiration and motivation to the Lake Oconee Academy campus shortly before the holidays and treated LOA students to a fun-filled day.

Rumble is the author of the hilarious Adventures of Uncle Stinky series.  He is also a talented illustrator, musician and speaker.  The day started with an entertaining Reading Pep Rally for the students.  His words and music were a great inspiration to the students to get revved up for reading and to encourage students to “read, write, draw and pursue their dreams and realize their greatness.”  Rumble then visited all grade levels to conduct workshops on essay writing, writing a basic story, illustrating and storytelling.

When asked by a 3rd grade student how he came up with the ideas for his stories, Rumble gave sound advice.  He replied, “You have to lead an interesting life.  Go out and meet people, visit new places and don’t spend all your time behind a screen.”
