LOA Students Selected for First Year Honor Band

Six students from Lake Oconee Academy (LOA) have been chosen to participate in the 2012 First Year Honor Band Clinic on Saturday, March 24, in Augusta, Ga.  The all-day clinic will culminate with a concert at 3:00 p.m.  Lauren Hatfield, Niah Kalpak, Ciara Maroschak, Ivy Norton, Fernanda Patino and Calleigh Reber will join over 100 beginning band students in their Georgia region.

These students are part of the brand new “Band of the Titans” that was started by Band Director Courtney Pilgrim with 5th grade students at LOA this year.  “It is a great honor to be chosen for this event, and the students will get the opportunity to play some wonderful music,” says Pilgrim.

The 40-member “Band of Titans” will make their first public appearance at the Southland Jubilee in downtown Greensboro, Ga., on April 21, 2012.
