LOA Parent Association Presents Foundation with Tees for Titans Proceeds

Lake Oconee Academy (LOA) Parent Association President John Heinen presented the LOA Foundation, the fundraising arm of the LOA Parent Association, with a check for $78,456.00 from the 2012 Tees for Titans golf tournament and silent auction.  The check represents the fundraising efforts of LOA parents, grandparents, friends and the many Tees for Titans sponsors.

The tournament proceeds were earmarked for construction of an outdoor play area, complete with playground equipment, basketball goals, and room for the addition of a batting cage, for the upper elementary and middle school students.  The plan also includes a covered pavilion that can be used for school events and community gatherings, as well as outdoor instruction space, physical education classes and class parties.  Construction is expected to begin next month. The new playground will be a wonderful addition to Tucker Park, the baseball/softball field constructed last spring, a project spearheaded by the Parent Association and completed with the hard work, dedication and generosity of LOA parents and community supporters.

The LOA Foundation manages the Annual Giving Fund created to maximize and guide the philanthropic support received by LOA.  LOA will continue to strive to be among the best college preparatory schools in the nation providing as many opportunities as possible to its students.  In that light, the work of the Foundation is crucial to maintain the arts, music, band, theatre, athletics, foreign language and other extracurricular offerings to enrich the lives of present and future LOA students.

The 2013 Tees for Titans golf tournament at The Landing and dinner at Festival Hall will be held Thursday, May 23.  If you would like to support Tees for Titans or the LOA Foundation, please contact LOA at 706.454.1562.  The LOA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and contributions are tax deductible as prescribed by law.
