Lake Oconee Academy is proud to announce that 61 students have been recognized as 2024–2025 AP Scholars by the College Board, a prestigious academic distinction that honors students for outstanding achievement on college-level coursework and exams.
With an average exam score of 3.69, LOA’s students continue to demonstrate academic. excellence, intellectual curiosity and a commitment to college-level learning. These achievements reflect both the hard work of the students and the dedication of LOA’s teachers who help prepare them for success beyond high school.
Among this year’s honorees, several students earned the AP Capstone Diploma™ and AP Seminar and Research Certificate™, which recognize mastery of college-level research, writing and presentation skills. These awards represent the highest level of achievement in the AP program and signify exceptional readiness for college and career success.
“We are incredibly proud of our students who have earned AP Scholar recognition,” said Dr. Brad Bowling, Executive Director of LOA. “Their accomplishments highlight our school’s continued focus on academic rigor and preparing students for success beyond graduation. These students have challenged themselves to think critically, work collaboratively and pursue learning at the highest level.”
Through its Advanced Placement program, LOA offers students the opportunity to take rigorous, college-level courses while still in high school. Students who earn a score of 3 or higher on their exams may receive college credit or advanced placement at universities nationwide, saving both time and tuition while developing the skills necessary to thrive in higher education.
