Lake Oconee Academy Honors Three Cornerstone Teachers at Board of Governors Meeting

At its September 8th Board of Governors meeting, Lake Oconee Academy proudly recognized three exceptional educators as Cornerstone Teachers: Dr. Eric Johnson, Dr. Jessica Teal and Ms. Kristen Marchiando.

Executive Director Dr. Brad Bowling joined school-level directors to present each honoree with a certificate of achievement, applauding their dedication, impact and commitment to LOA students.

  • Dr. Eric Johnson, Elementary Music Teacher, was honored for his creative and engaging instruction that brings the joy of music to LOA’s youngest Titans and fosters a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

  • Dr. Jessica Teal, Fifth Grade Social Studies Teacher, was recognized for her creativity in the classroom, including projects like the “Mayor Files” that connect curriculum to real-world experiences.

  • Ms. Kristen Marchiando, High School Faculty, was celebrated for her commitment to challenging and inspiring older students, preparing them not only for academic success but also for life beyond LOA.

“These teachers represent the heart of our school,” said Dr. Bowling. “They set the standard for excellence and embody LOA’s values of scholarship, citizenship, and community.”

The Cornerstone Teacher recognition is part of LOA’s ongoing effort to celebrate faculty and staff who go above and beyond in shaping students’ educational journeys.
