The ONE Titan spirit was alive and strong as Lake Oconee Academy kicked off its first varsity home football game with the annual Titan Tailgate. A welcomed tradition by students, families and alumni, more than 250 people joined in on the free Friday night celebration.
Organized by the Parent Teacher Committee (PTC) with help from student groups and staff volunteers, the Titan Tailgate offered fun for all ages. From face painting and spirit tattoos to photo opportunities and a variety of family-friendly activities, the event created the perfect backdrop for fellowship. The spirit of togetherness was unmistakable as attendees shared food and laughter before the Titans took the field.
“The Titan Tailgate is a welcomed tradition that reflects who we are as a school and the value we place on community,” said Jamison Baynes, Family Engagement and Communications
Coordinator. “Through campus events like this, every LOA family can feel a part by coming together in one place, show support and also create special memories.”
As the sun set and the crowd made their way to the stadium, the sense of unity carried over onto the Tucker field. The Titans delivered a terrific performance, capping off the evening with a decisive win, making the evening celebration even sweeter.
“The energy at this year’s tailgate was contagious and definitely helped fuel the spirit for the game,” said Executive Director Dr. Brad Bowling. “It’s amazing to see the pride our students and families have. Our Titans showed up in every way: at the tailgate, in the stands, and on the field...truly a victory in every sense!”
The Titan Tailgate sets the tone for an exciting year ahead. It was a night to remember, one that blended tradition with community pride, reminding everyone what it really means to be “ONE Titan.”
