Lake Oconee Academy is proud to celebrate an outstanding evening of academic achievement at the Greene County District Spelling Bee, held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
Fourth-grade student Jordan Loh earned first place, representing LOA with remarkable confidence, focus and poise. Jordan advanced through an impressive 22 rounds of competition, demonstrating not only strong spelling skills, but also calm determination under pressure. With her first-place finish, Jordan will go on to represent both LOA and Greene County at the regional spelling bee later this year.
The evening also marked a meaningful milestone for Ann Campbell Vinson, an eighth-grade student whose spelling journey has left a lasting legacy at LOA. Ann Campbell has been a four-time LOA School Spelling Bee champion and a three-time District Spelling Bee winner, consistently setting a high standard for academic excellence. This year, in her final eligible appearance before entering high school, Ann Campbell placed third overall, finishing among the top spellers in the county.
“I am incredibly proud of the way Jordan and Ann Campbell represented LOA at the county spelling bee,” said Kalie McDaniel, LOA Spelling Bee Coordinator. “They both have spent countless hours studying, preparing and encouraging each other in pursuit of becoming the District Spelling Bee Champion. Jordan’s performance was impressive as she went 22 rounds to become this year’s champion, and I have also enjoyed watching Ann Campbell shine over the past three years as our former District Spelling Bee Champion. We wish her all the best as she heads to high school next year.”
The District Spelling Bee highlighted not only spelling ability, but also perseverance, preparation, and character. Together, Jordan and Ann Campbell’s performances reflect the strong academic culture and supportive community that define Lake Oconee Academy.
LOA proudly celebrates both a rising Titan and a legacy Titan, honoring their accomplishments and the dedication that brought them to this moment. Together, their performances reflect the strong academic culture and supportive community that define Lake Oconee Academy.
