On May 20, 2026, Lake Oconee Academy’s Counseling Team attended the Greene County Family Connection Commission’s 2nd Annual Greene County Well-Being Summit, held at Lakeside Church in Greensboro. The event brought together nonprofit organizations, local officials, healthcare leaders, educators, and community members to focus on a shared goal: supporting the well-being of children and families throughout Greene County.
This year’s summit, themed Seeds of Impact, highlighted the power of collaboration and featured discussions centered on community resources, partnerships, and initiatives designed to help local children thrive. The event provided an opportunity for organizations across Greene County to share ideas, strengthen connections, and explore innovative ways to create lasting, positive outcomes for families.
Proudly representing Lake Oconee Academy were Johnny Noto, High School Counselor, and Jennifer Patton, Middle School Counselor. They joined fellow community leaders in learning, networking, and collaborating on issues that impact students both inside and outside the classroom.
“We are always grateful for opportunities to come together as a community and focus on the well-being of children,” said Mrs. Patton. “Greene County is a special place, and events like this remind us how important it is for schools, organizations, and community leaders to work together in support of our students and families. When we invest in children together, everyone benefits.”
At Lake Oconee Academy, strong community partnerships are an important part of the school’s mission. Through collaboration with local organizations and community leaders, LOA remains committed to supporting the whole child and helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
The school is proud to be part of a community that cares deeply about its children and is dedicated to building a brighter future for the next generation.
