Lake Oconee Academy proudly announces that music educator Amy Reber has been named a quarterfinalist for the prestigious 2027 Music Educator Award, presented by the Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Museum.

Selected from more than 2,500 nominations nationwide, Mrs. Reber is among just 203 quarterfinalists recognized for their outstanding contributions to music education and dedication to students through the arts. The annual award honors educators who have made a lasting impact in the field of music education and who demonstrate a deep commitment to the academic, artistic, and personal growth of their students.

“I am incredibly honored and humbled to be recognized as a quarterfinalist for this award,” said Mrs. Reber. “Music education has the power to shape confidence, creativity, discipline, and connection in students’ lives, and I am grateful every day to be part of that journey with our students at LOA. I’m proud to represent our school and so thankful for the support of our administration, families, and local community who continue to value and champion the arts.”

A true fixture of LOA, Mrs. Reber has been impacting Titan students since LOA’s inception, serving as a beloved music educator whose influence extends far beyond the classroom. Known for her talent, encouragement, and dedication to students of all ages, she has helped cultivate a thriving fine arts culture on campus while inspiring students to pursue excellence and joy through music.

Upper School Principal Jerante Smith praised Mrs. Reber’s impact, saying, “Mrs. Reber is one of the most dedicated, kind, and talented individuals I have ever worked with. This recognition is incredibly well deserved, and we are so proud to see her talents and commitment recognized on a national level.”

LOA CEO Dr. Brad Bowling also celebrated the announcement. “This is an incredible honor not only for Mrs. Reber, but for our entire school community,” Dr. Bowling said. “She represents the very best of Lake Oconee Academy through her passion for students, commitment to excellence, and unwavering support of the arts. We are tremendously proud of her.”

The Music Educator Award was established to recognize current educators who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music education. Following the quarterfinalist round, semifinalists will be announced later this fall, with one recipient ultimately honored during GRAMMY Week.

Lake Oconee Academy congratulates Mrs. Amy Reber on this extraordinary achievement and looks forward to cheering her on throughout the remainder of the selection process.
