Students from the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy brought their leadership beyond the classroom and into the community, hosting a free youth carnival designed to connect and inspire children across Greene County.
Held on Saturday, April 25 at LOA’s Tucker Field, the Greene Youth Connection Day served as the group’s culminating “Big Impact Project,” a student-led initiative focused on creating meaningful, real-world impact. Families across Greene County were invited to attend and enjoy a day filled with games, face painting, inflatables, and community-centered activities.
“Our Big Impact Project is a student-led initiative to bring together the youth of LOA and Greene County Schools,” said Chick-fil-A Leader Academy sponsor Mrs. Logan Faust. “I am so proud of these 19 students and the way they took ownership of this event. Seeing it come to life and watching the community come together made it incredibly special.” This is Mrs. Faust’s second year leading the program.
Throughout the year, Chick-fil-A Leader Academy challenges students to grow as leaders through service, collaboration, and action. The Youth Connection Day reflected those values, with students planning and executing every detail of the event.
“It was really rewarding to see everything come together,” Lynn Nation, student leader and LOA Junior shared. “We wanted to create something fun where everyone felt included, and seeing all the kids smiling and enjoying it made all the hard work worth it.”
LOA Junior Darby Kate Moore added, “This project showed us what leadership really looks like. It’s not just planning something; it’s making a difference for other people.” The result was a day centered on connection, joy, and shared experience for families throughout Greene County.
Lake Oconee Academy is proud to support opportunities like the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy, where students are empowered to lead with purpose and create meaningful impact beyond the classroom.
