Bench Press, but make it STEM. In 8th grade Computer Literacy class, Mr. Jiang’s students took on the challenge of building and programming their own LEGO robots and yes, they had to bench press! From design and coding to problem solving, the creativity in this room was off the charts. Watching our Titans think critically, collaborate and bring their ideas to life is what learning at LOA is all about.
Teacher Tuesday Spotlight: Mrs. Lisa Weaver 💛💙 Mrs. Lisa has been loving on our youngest Titans since the 2017–2018 school year, and PreK has never been the same. Mrs. Lisa brings energy, laughter and joy into every single day. She believes in loving on her babies, building their confidence, and making school a place where they feel safe, celebrated, and excited to grow. She is always dressed to impress, and ready to have fun, but behind the sparkle and spirit is a teacher who pours her whole heart into her classroom. Thankful Thursday This #ThankfulThursday, we’re throwing it back to weight training class.💪 We are so grateful to the LOA Foundation for making this incredible space possible for our Titans. Thanks to their support, our students continue to use the weight room every single day, building strength, discipline and confidence. Perfect timing for some winter learning! ❄️ PreK students had a blast making their own “snow” last week, while our 4th grade students explored snowflake shapes, ice formation and the water cycle, then brought their learning to life by building snowflake models. Learning feels extra fun when it connects to the world outside our windows.💙✨

Fun things are happening in 2nd grade. Our students have been working on opinion writing and recently wrote about whether they wanted a hermit crab or a betta fish as a class pet. After sharing their thoughts and reasoning, they voted and the betta fish won! 🐟Second grade students now have a class betta fish named Blueberry and they are loving it! From writing and voting to observing and caring for their new class pet, this experience made learning engaging, meaningful and fun. Moments like these truly bring learning to life at LOA.
